Today, you will fly from Bali airport to Pangkalan Bun airport in Central Kalimantan/ Borneo via Surabaya or Jakarta in Java Island
And upon your arrival in Pangkalan Bun Airport in Central Kalimantan (Borneo), our staff will fetch you by your name on placard and then take you to the port of Kumai’s River by a car for 20 minutes. Afterward, you will board on the traditional boat to proceed for your trip to reach Tanjung Puting National Park area for 2 hours exploring the river.
This boat is river boat with an engine and it is made from iron wood and a specialist for tourism industry. The boat is made with 12m (length) and 2,5m (width) with a roof on upper deck where you will view the natural environment of the rainforest. The local people call it by KLOTOK. We will explore the river by Klotok with slowly to observe wild animals and the natural environment along the river side.
There are Proboscis monkeys, Macaques, many species of birds and other wild animals will greet you in the middle of Borneo rain forest. The boat’s facilities are a simple cabin with mattress, pillow, blanket, meals, mineral water, mosquito net, kitchen and toilet. You can choose to take meals and stay overnight on Boat to get a cheapest price for your trip or at lodge for more comfortable accommodation
After breakfast, we will travel up the river for 2 hours boating to reach to the Camp Leaky, where the orang-utans older will be reintroduced into the rain forest. Before we arrive at the Camp Leakey, we will stop at Pondok Tanggui for watching the orangutan's feeding at 09:00 and back to enjoy the houseboat tours till lunch time.
After lunch on the Boat, you will have an opportunity to do a short trekking before we will see the feeding's time for orangutans in the Camp Leaky area at 14:00 and then, you will have free time to enjoy the river safari when you are on way back to parking lot of the boats. On this day, you can choose for overnight stay on the houseboat/klotok OR at eco lodge (it is depend on your booking and budget)
After breakfast, We'll continue with our houseboat/ Klotok down the river to reach Kumai river port. We will do the river cruise down and short exploring tour,- so, wildlife spotting is not over yet. Enjoying your coffee or tea on upper deck of the boat while exploring the river in Tanjung Puting National Park at morning time
This morning, if you are lucky enough - you may can meet the Orangutan foraging in the trees around and Long-snout Crocodiles may sun-busking on the river bank when the weather really good. It will offer you an incredible experience during the houseboat tour from Tanjung Puting National Park area back to Kumai river port
Upon arrival at Kumai river port, meet with our driver and departing Kumai,- then you’ll be transferred to Pangkalan Bun airport with possibility to visit Orangutan souvenir and handicraft gallery before your flight out from Pangkalan Bun (conditional).
